About Village Missions

Purpose Statement: Village Missions exists to glorify Jesus Christ by developing spiritually vital churches in rural North America.

  • North America is the ONLY continent where Christianity is not growing.
  • Village Missions specifically targets rural areas; although there is undoubtedly much need in urban areas, there are also many organizations that send pastors and missionaries to large cities. Rural areas, on the other hand, are often overlooked despite their great need for long-term ministers. The lack of people willing to go to these communities, coupled with a lack of financial resources, makes for a frequently neglected mission field that Village Missions strives to fill.
  • Village Missions serves about 230 churches in North America and currently has about 20 churches that are waiting for Missionaries to minister to their communities.
  • Village Missions sends Missionaries only to towns where they are needed most—where there is no other Gospel-preaching church or where it is in danger of ceasing.

What Makes a Village Missionary . . . a Missionary?
  • Because Village Missions does not overlap their ministry where other churches already exist, the church to which the Village Missionaries are sent is the only light in that community. In addition to pastoring their congregation, Village Missionaries are expected to be continually and intentionally getting involved in the lives of those in the community in order to share Christ with all who live there. This is what makes the ministry of Village Missions uniquely missional.
