Packing Up and Ready to Go

Two Sundays ago I (Chris) preached and presented our ministry at New Harvest Church of the Nazarene (Warsaw, IN). It was here at this church that Ronae and I had our first experiences of doing ministry with the youth there for two years while we attended Grace College. It was great to catch up with old friends and to share with them what God is laying on our hearts.

Officially Moving
We are officially moving down to North Montgomery in less than a week - Monday, June 16th. (For those of you who do not know, "North Montgomery" is the field name of where we will be serving. Our mentors Allen and Diane Sparks serve in the north school district of Montgomery Country. It is comprised of 5 small towns. See our post "So, where is your internship again?".)

Packing is always stressful, especially doing so with an ornery red-haired munchkin. (We do love him!) On the other hand packing is somewhat of a joyful anticipatory mark of great things to come. We are truly looking forward to our year with Allen and Diane and the Liberty Chapel.

Support Update
We are currently at $725 in monthly pledges. (For those of you who do not know, part of our the responsibility and requirement of Village Missionaries to to raise part of their support in serving rural communities. The local church puts forth part, the organization supplements and we try to raise the rest. If you'd like the exact details please do not hesitate to ask.)

Even as we move and begin our internship we are still seeking to raise a goal of $1400 in monthly pledges. We are seeking to meet with individuals and churches who may be interested in hearing more about our ministry with this organization.

Goodbye Shag Rug
I recently received the haircut I've been asking for for over six months, compliments of Ronae. (Yes a haircut money can't buy, sorry Great Clips.) I wanted one in December before family Christmas with the Clelands in Hicksville, Ohio. I wanted one before we met for an in-home interview with Mike and Judy Jones in January (Mike is the Assistant Director of Village Missions). I wanted one before we visited Allen and Diane Sparks in Waynetown, IN in April (our soon-to-be mentors). I wanted one before several family photo shoots we have had recently. I wanted one before the birth of our daughter Charis in May. And now I finally get one before we move for our internship.

Sincere Thanks
We could never give enough sincere thanks to  those who have gone out of their way to partner with us in prayer and support. It is encouraging to be partnered with so many others who are Gospel-centered and would like to help minister to neglected communities in North America.
